Prior to that she had an injection system that was cumbersome and affixed to her back. In more modern times, thanks to the meddling of the Succubus Queen, she no longer needs a means of becoming a hulking she-beast since it is now her permanent form. An inhibitor serum she developed allows her to temporarily retain a much more human size and appearance.
