Donar's Daughter by Soviet-Superwoman Donar's Daughter by Soviet-Superwoman
So my great friend :iconjohnnyharadrim: read my latest story involving Genocide (see it here: ) and surprised me with this incredible looking version of Ilsa preparing for war! Bedecked in gleaming armor like a Nordic Valkyrie of old and wielding a great maul and a Francesca axe, Reichsfuhrer Hauppman stands ready to cut her enemies in quivering cubes, far to the north at her new fortress of Jotunheimr.

Genocide is my property and creation.

She is currently in the :iconangel-fallsda: universe of stories.

Ilsa's really going for the Nordic goddess of war look isn't she?

Nicely done all the same....

((I just don't want to see those weapons up close))

All credit goes to :iconjohnnyharadrim:. Up until that point, she wore SS uniforms or nothing at all.

It looks like Ilsa is ready to take on Thor or Lady Sif.

I may be late to this realisation, but I've been doing a little research on european gods recently, and just learned "Donar" is another name for Thor. "Thor's Daughter"? Oh heeeeeell no.

Also, isn't Thor traditionally red-haired? Not exactly the Aryan ideal that Ilsa's so proud of. Although I suppose Sif is supposed to be blonde... Then again, all of this is a moot point unless she goes completely off the deep end and actually starts referring to herself as "Donar's Daughter".

Gotta remember though that the Nazis wanted to unite all Germany under their banner. The myths of the Norse are very similar to those of the Germans. Just as the Irish share myths with the Scottish, the Greeks with the Romans, so do the cultures of those of the Norse and Germanic. Basically, Hitler was trying to instill very strong national pride in a country who had basically been humiliated and destroyed by the first world war. Therefore he reached back and emphasized every aspect of Germanic culture, ANYTHING that his people could be proud of and a shared "Aryan" heritage with the Nordic mythos was a big one, especially given Hitler's love for Wagner. Himmler was also a nut on the subject, believing that children conceived in Nordic cemeteries would give birth to a pure Aryan child, filled with the spirit of an ancient warrior.

Makes sense. The strategy, I mean, not the actual beliefs. But as I said, any flaws in Ilsa's beliefs I could mention are meaningless unless she completely snaps and starts genuinely believing she's a true earth-bound goddess or has some other divine connection beyond just being a member of the "chosen Aryan people". There's a pretty big difference between likening yourself to god or modelling yourself after one, and actually thinking that you are one, and I'm not sure Ilsa's slipped into the latter territory just yet.

Nothing new for Ilsa, she's been thinking she's a goddess since 2009.

Ah, but is that goddess in the metaphorical sense (i.e. simply admiring her power, stature and appearance), or in the literal sense (i.e. thinking she'd become a truly divine being)? Vanity or insanity?

Oh it's absolutely vanity (but her sanity has always been shaky).

Well yeah, but it's always been a combination of the standard mad scientist and uber-Nazi types of insanity. Not thinking she's some kind of lost member of the Norse pantheon.

When you can't decide between two great weapons, just use both. =)

However, stop at two, don't follow in the footsteps of Rob Leifeld and start adding dozens of weapons that just make no sense.

I was looking at the thumb and title thinking to myself who the heck is this new character lol!

This got me thinking as I forget:

When Ilsa is not in hulk mode is she basically a normal person?

Does she still have her special healing in her normal mode?

Yes, when she is in her "default mode", she can be hurt and killed like any other human. She used it primarily for the fact that being almost 12' tall and massive can have it's disadvantages working with both people and small, delicate equipment. This recent assassination attempt and imprisonment have forced her hand.

Ilsa could aspire to be a Valkyrie but she'll never be one.
I'm pretty sure should have a hissy fit if she became a handmaiden to Odin.
This is the same Odin who adopted a baby ice giant that became one of his sins… and lost an eye in battle… and whose wife, nominally thought of as Freya, is a portrayed as either a brunette or redhead.
Yeah, I don't see Ilsa fitting into Valhalla all that well…

I guess so.
What's even weirder is that the Germanic and Bavarian tribes they could call ancestors were not Nordic in the least.

The worship of the Norse was not just in the Scandanavian countries but the Germanic as well. The Norse we know were more prominent under the vikings and I think the Germanic version could have been the earliest forms of the Norse. The symbol of the Nazi party at one I think was used by women for protection from Thor.

The swastika/swaztika was once a religious symbol in Germania used by priests to signify the Crucifixion, if I remember correctly.
The rest of what you have down is news to me.

Wow, she clearly means business if she's going to start using weapons while in her monstrously-strong and nigh-invulnerable Genocide form.

Two additional points:
1) If those weapons and armour pieces/jewelry are some kind of mystic artifacts that the Nazis happened to find (and store in the complex that would become Jotunheimr), then whoever made them must've had an impressive degree of foresight to predict a woman of Genocide's size. Especially as she comes from another dimension.

2) Regardless of the precise nature of these items, it looks like she might be starting to really flip her lid (or at least moreso) and take the whole "Aryan Goddess" thing more seriously. This especially won't be helped if, as I mentioned above, these items, magical or not, were found years ago by the 3rd Reich rather than built recently for Ilsa by the 4th, leading to her seeing herself as some kind of destined conquerer.

1) She is having them crafted especially for her. Now as to whether she can get them enchanted somehow...

2) She has been under a great deal of pressure lately...:fork:

Oh god no... The last thing the AFU needs is Genocide wielding some kind of germanic Mjölnir. Or Gram.

My character wielding such or similar items would be absolutely fine, though. :shifty:
